What Is a Backdraft Damper?
A backdraft damper is a mechanical device installed in ductwork to prevent unwanted reverse airflow. CB-601 Backdraft Damper
The CB-601 is a backdraft/barometric extruded aluminum damper designed for high-performance ventilation systems. With a maximum velocity of 4000 FPM and a pressure rating up to 4" W.G., this damper allows airflow in one direction while automatically regulating and releasing built-up pressure. Like the CB-600, the CB-601 is ideal for intake and exhaust systems that demand durability and performance. It features rugged extruded aluminum construction and is compatible with an optional field-mount actuator kit for added control and flexibility.
BF Butterfly Backdraft Damper
The BF is a true round, spring-loaded butterfly backdraft damper designed to allow airflow in one direction and prevent reverse flow in ventilation systems. It opens at pressures between .04 to .08 inches w.c. and can be installed for both upward and horizontal airflow. Constructed with a galvanized steel frame, aluminum blade, and PVC foam seals, the BF is rated for a maximum pressure of .30 inches w.g., making it an ideal choice for systems requiring low-pressure operation and durable, reliable performance.
I-900 Industrial Round Damper
The I-900 is a heavy-duty flanged frame style industrial backdraft damper designed to control backflow and provide shut-off in HVAC or industrial process control systems. With a maximum airflow velocity of 5000 FPM and a pressure rating of up to 10" w.g., it operates reliably in both vertical and horizontal positions. I-200-F/C Weather Resistant Discharge Cap
The I-200-F/C is a vertical discharge weather-resistant backdraft damper cap designed for remote-located fans and exterior ventilation systems. Constructed with a galvanized steel frame and aluminum blade, this damper cap prevents reverse airflow while allowing upward exhaust. It features built-in drainage to manage rain, snow, and melting ice, making it ideal for rooftop and outdoor applications. An optional stainless steel frame is also available for enhanced corrosion resistance in harsh environments.
